FACILITY: Phillips Exeter Academy Pool - an 8 lane 25
yard pool with non-turbulent lane dividers.
Electronic timing. Seating for
600. Pool is located at the corner of
Court & Gilman Streets, Exeter, NH.

Entries will be accepted on and after
October 22, 2001; any entry received before October 22, 2001 will be considered
received on October 22, 2001.
COMPUTER ENTRIES: This meet will be run on Meet Manager from Hy-Tek.
This program accepts SD3 and CL2 file formats. E-mail entry as an attachment to Poipl@mediaone.net. Send disk, hard
copy and payment to Dawn Ebbetts, 18 Cullen Way, Exeter, NH 03833. For
e-mail entries; payment and printed copy of entry must be received within
7 days of receipt of the e-mail entry.
If payment is received within 7 days of
the electronic entry, the date of
e-mail receipt will be considered the date your entry was received by EST. If payment is not received within 7
days, the entry will be considered
received as of the date payment and hard copy are received. Hand
entries must be on standard New England entry forms and include swimmers
USS registration number. Times should be
in yards.
TIME UPDATES: Times may be updated until the entry deadline
by electronic file only provided no
new entries are included or substitutions made to the original entry in the
update. Any updates must be received by Nov. 30th,
2001. Anything but a file identical to the original entry file will be
rejected. If additional entries are to
be accepted, a separate file and entry fees must be submitted.
ENTRY FEES & ELIGIBILITY: $2.50 per event for electronic entries; $3.00 per event for hand entries. Make check payable to Exeter Sprints. All swimmers must be 2001 registered swimmers
with US Swimming. No
swimmer may swim more than five events per day.
No deck entries will be accepted.
CUTS: We will adhere to the four-hour time
rule. If necessary, we will first limit
the number of heats in 200 yard events based on seed time; however, in no case
will a swimmer be cut from more than one 200 yard event. If further cuts are necessary, teams will be
cut by date of receipt. Fees must
accompany entries and there will be no refunds unless swimmers are cut due to
over subscription.
AWARDS:
Medals for individual events 1st through 8th place.
ADMISSION: Free;
Program $3.00 per session.
REFRESHMENTS: Full snack bar will be available during all
sessions.
DIRECTIONS: From North or South: Route I-95 to Exit 2. At tolls take Route 101 West to
Portsmouth/Stratham exit 11 (Route 108).
Take left at end of ramp, following Route 108 South to T intersection,
turn right. At the bandstand in downtown
Exeter, turn left (still 108). Take a
left at the top of the hill onto Court St. (Route 108). Turn left just after the tennis courts on the
left. Parking is on the right.
From East or West: Route 101 to the Portsmouth/Stratham exit 11
(Route 108). Follow directions from
Route 108 South above.
PARKING:
Parking is available on public streets where parking is permitted and in
the Academy Athletic Faculty parking lot behind hockey rinks and Love
Gymnasium. Improperly parked cars will
be ticketed and/or towed at owner's expense.
FORMAT: All
events will be timed finals. The meet
will be seeded by computer, (no deck cards please), following positive check-in
with the clerk of course. Coaches are
responsible for their swimmers reporting to the clerk of course when events are
called/posted.
RULES:
2001 US Swimming rules will govern all competition and decisions by the
Meet Referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged with 30 minutes
of the heat being swum.
SAFETY: Diving is prohibited except in designated
areas. All team and individual warm-ups
shall be under the direct supervision of the respective swimmer's coach or
individual designated by the referee.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1.
If any swimmer has a "no time" for an event, an approximate time
should be given so that we can seed the swimmer in competition that closely approximates the
swimmer's level of proficiency. Any "no time" entries will be seeded
alphabetically and swum in the first heat.
2.
Disabled swimmer forms are available from the New England Office and are
required by US Swimming.
3.
There will be absolutely no diving in any part of the pool during warm-ups,
except in specially designated sprint lanes.
4.
Any swimmer participating in the meet without a USS registered coach shall
report to the referee before warm-ups prior to each session.
5.
College students may swim OPEN provided they have a valid 1999 US Swimming
registration. They may swim with their local swim club or they may swim
unattached, whichever suits their given situation.
6. Do not send seed cards. Confirmation
of entries will be sent via e-mail. There will be no deck entries.
7. Your cooperation in respecting the use of the
Phillips Exeter Academy Pool and facilities is required and appreciated. Exeter
Swim Team and Phillips Exeter Academy assume no responsibility for lost or
stolen property. Swimmers and spectators must remain in the pool, gallery, or
locker rooms. Any food or beverages found on deck or in the locker rooms will
be confiscated.

EXETER SPRINTS
WARM-UPS
AM SESSION
GIRLS: Will warm-up from 7:00-7:30 a.m.
BOYS: Will warm-up from 7:30-8:00 a.m.
The last 5-10 minutes
of each warm-up will be open for sprint lanes.
AM SESSIONS WILL START AT 8:15 AM
GIRLS: Will warm-up from 1:15-1:45
p.m.
BOYS: Will warm-up from 1:45-2:15
p.m.
The last 5-10 minutes of each warm-up will be open for sprint lanes.
SEEDING
The bullpen will be seeded by computer following positive check-in with
the clerk of course. The first six
events of each session will be seeded during warm-ups prior to the start of
each session. Coaches are responsible
for their swimmers reporting to the clerk of course when events are
called/posted. The 25 Yard Fly, the 25
Yard Free, and the 25 Yard Breast (Events 5, 6, 11, 12, 59, & 60) will be
started without starting blocks and will be swum into the touchpads to take
advantage of the automatic timing system.
In accordance with NE
Swimming policy, no shaving will be allowed in the showers or elsewhere in the
facility at any time.
USS
REGISTRATION
If you are swimming
without an USS registered coach, please report to the referee before warm-ups
prior to each session.
In order
provide adequate positions, Team officials are asked to contact the Meet
Manager (603-778-9086)
as to qualifications (e.g., S&T, Starter) and
availability.
