Start times may be changed once all entries have been received.  Teams will be notified of exact times by e-mail.

 

SITE: The Pool is located at 100 Rathbun Willard Drive Attleboro, MA 02703. Directions may be found later in this document. Attleboro High School Pool has a 25 yard, 8 lane, 7 foot wide with non-turbulent lane lines, Colorado Timing System electronic touch pads and eight lane display scoreboard. There are no touch pads at the turn end of the pool. Limited fixed bleacher seating for 250 for spectators. Two additional 50 person bleachers will be brought into the facility one for swimmers and one for spectators. Members of New England Swimming and their families are restricted to the pool, spectator stands and the concession area. Only people with proper credentials will be allowed on deck or beyond the designated spectator sections.  There is no smoking in the building or within 500 feet of the building.  Failure to abide by rules defined in this notice, posted at the facility or determined by the Meet Referee, Meet Director, Fire Marshall or Police Officer may result in ejection from the facility. 

  

COURSE: Short course yards (25 yards).

 

EVENTS and SESSIONS: See attached list.

 

FORMAT:

11 & 12 age group will be a Trials Finals Format with two (2) heats, Consolation and Championships finals, (fastest 16 swimmers from preliminaries) will return to the evening final session.  Consolation and Championship Final Heats will be swum in that order.  1000 Free, 1650 Free, 500 Free, 400 I.M. and all relays are timed final events.  Individuals swimming the 1650 free, 500 free, 1000 free and 400IM are responsible for providing their own counter and two timers. All heats of the 1000 free and 1650 free will swim fastest to slowest, alternating girls and boys.  Girls and boys may be combined if that requires fewer heats.  Each session will be seeded by computer based on positive check-in at the beginning of each session.  Coaches will receive a positive check-in sheet before each session, which must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of the session.  Heat sheets will be posted around the pool deck.  Copies of heat sheets will be given to coaches. Swimmers should report directly to the blocks for their events.  Coaches are responsible for ensuring their swimmers are in the correct heat and lane. 

 

ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must be 2008 USA Swimming registered athletes.  All swimmers must be registered before the entry is submitted.  Teams that enter unregistered swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per unregistered swimmer.  New England teams entering the meet are required to check their entries with the online registration check tool on the New England Swimming web site.  Please contact the New England Swimming Office for registration information. ENTRY INFORMATION: No swimmer may swim more than 9 individual events (11 –12 maximum of 3 individual events per day). All relay swimmers must be listed on the official entry form. Entries must be received by Monday, February 18th by 5:00pm. E-mail entries will be accepted and must be received by the original cutoff date and a check and hard copy received by Wednesday, February 20, 2008 by 12:00 PM.  If mailing, United States Postal Service Overnight Mail method is to be used. Indicate that the package can be delivered even if no one is there to sign for it. No fax entries will be accepted. Make checks payable to “C & C Swimming, Inc”.  Mail completed forms (including signed entry cover page and waiver) and payment to the entry chairperson: C & C Swimming, Inc, Bluefish Swim Club, c/o Christie Batchelor, 125 County Street, Attleboro, MA 02703All fees must accompany entry. If submitting entry on a disk a hard copy is still required and must also accompany the disk. If you e-mail the entry a hard copy and check for the appropriate fee must be received by the date listed above in order to be accepted.

 

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chairperson at abfswimsccc@yahoo.com Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file.  For email entries, payment and hardcopy of the entry (including signed entry cover page and waiver) must be received within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of receipt of the email entry.  If payment is received within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of the email entry, the email receipt date will be considered the date of entry.  If payment is received more than four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, after the email entry, the payment receipt date will be considered the date of entry.

 

ENTRY TIME UPATES: No new entries will be accepted after the February 18, 2008 entry deadline.  Entry time updates should be sent via email to the entry chairperson at abfswimsccc@yahoo.com Entry time updates must be sent as Hy-Tek format CL2 files with updated times.  (New entries will be automatically excluded.)

ENTRY TIMES:  Entry times must be achieved between February 11, 2007 and February 18, 2008.  Then meet will be run seeded in the following order, SCY, SCM, LCM.

 

VERIFICATION

All Entries must include verification codes. There will be a verification table at 12 & Under Age Group Championships.  At this meet teams must submit to the verification table a copy of their meet entry with verification of all times indicated.  Teams must also include a copy of any non-New England calendar meet results used for entry times. Results will be reviewed by New England Swimming. Any swimmer unable to verify entry time will be barred from the rest of the meet. If several swimmers from one team are unable to verify entry times the swimmers and the coach may be banned from the remainder of the meet. 


SCRATCHES:

Scratch deadlines for Friday, Saturday and Sunday prelim events will be due by 6:00pm the night before.  Scratches for Friday only may be made by e-mail until 6:00 pm Thursday, February 21nd, 2008.  All Thursday Evening events will be POSITIVE CHECK-IN by 5:00 pm at the Clerk of Course on deck.

 

Scratches for 10 & U afternoon sessions must be turned in to the timing table 30 minutes before the start of the session using the team scratch sheets provided.

 

SPECIAL SCRATCH NOTES (FOR 11 & 12 SWIMMERS)

1.      Any swimmers for fails to complete in an individual event heat in which he/she is entered and has not been scratched will be barred from further competition for that day, including relays and time trials. The swimmer will be also automatically scratched from the following day’s events unless the clerk of course has been notified of the swimmers intention to complete by 6:00 pm.  NOTE:  Finals are considered continuation of events starting with trials.

 

2.      Any swimmer who completes in an individual heat and qualifies for Championship Finals or Consolations and fails to notify the meet referee of his/her intension to withdraw from the final within 30 minutes of the announcement of the results and qualifies for that event, and does not complete nor is excused by the meet referee, will be barred from all subsequent competition in the meet, including relays and time trials.

 

3.      All relay, 500 Free, 400 IM, 1000 Free and 1650 Free events must confirm their intention to participate with a POSITIVE CHECK-IN.

 

RELAYS:  All relays will be swum as timed finals. A team may enter relays according to the number of swimmers per sex entered in individual events with a maximum of 2 relays per team per event, both of which may score. At the Age Group meet, a team with 1, 2, or 3 swimmers of the same sex entered in at least one individual event may enter one relay in each relay event of that sex. If a team has 4 or more swimmers of the same sex entered in at least one individual event, the team may not have any “relay only” swimmers for relays of that sex

 

RELAY CARDS

For both the 11-12 and 10 & Under sessions relay cards must be submitted to the clerk of course 30 minutes before the start of the session.  No changes to the composition of the relay order of the relay swimmers may be made after submission of relay cards to the clerk of course, except for medical or other excuse approved by the meet referee.

 

ADMISSION:  $1.00 per session.

 

PROGRAMS:  $5.00 per session.

 

WARM UPS: The pool will open for warm-ups one-hour before the beginning of each session.  The pool will close ten minutes before the beginning of each session.  Teams will be assigned warm-up lanes after all entries are received.  Before the start of the distance events 400IM, 500FR, 1650FR a 10 minute warm-up will be provided at the conclusion of the prior prelim event.  One 10 minute warm-up/warm-down will be provided in the middle of each final session, a session time line will be complied with a designated awards presentations scheduled, breaks and warm-up/warm-down periods. At the conclusion of finals, after the award presentation we will provide a 10 minute warm-down.

 

OTHER MEET NOTES

Coaches are expected to understand the scratch, verification and relay rules before the meet begins.  All coaches should check-in at the timing table on the pool deck upon arrival.  Coach’s packets will be available at the beginning of the warm-up session from the timing table. 

Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their swimmers at all times.  Any damage to the premises or equipment is the responsibility of those doing the damage.  Swimmers and spectators are restricted to the pool, spectator areas and locker rooms.  No smoking is permitted inside the facility.  Bluefish Swim Club, C & C Swimming, Inc., New England Swimming, and Attleboro High School assume no responsibility for lost or stolen property.  Pets of any kind and smoking are not permitted within the facility.

 

Swimmers are encouraged to bring sweatshirts and lawn chairs as we are allowed to have overflow of athletes and spectators in the hallways surrounding the pool area.  Swimmers should bring a lock and leave bags, coats in the locker room or with parents to help keep the deck clear.

 

Please do not ask to change entry times or events after the entry deadline.  No deck entries will be accepted

 

SAFETY:

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes.  There will be no diving in the warmup and warm-down areas at any time
  2. No shaving is permitted at the competition site.
  3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach.  If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up.  The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
  5. No camera cell phones are permitted in the locker rooms.
  6. No flash photography allowed at the start of events.

RULES: 2008 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.  Decisions by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum.

 

TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allows.  Time trials are $5.00 for individual events and $20.00 for relays.

AWARDS:   Medals will be awarded for the first 8 places in individual events and first 3 places in relays.  Ribbons for 9-16 places individual, and 4-8 relays.  These awards will be presented throughout the meet. Once entries have been received a session time line will be complied with a designated awards presentations scheduled.

 

Plaques will be awarded to the individual high point winners for both boys and girls for the first eight places for each age group.  Individual Distance events (400IM, 1000FR, & 1650FR) high point will be awarded a gift for the top three places for both boys and girls for each age group. Awards will be given for combined 12 & Under Team High Point places 1-8.

 

OFFICIALS AND TIMERS

In accordance with standard NE Championship procedures, all teams entering the meet must provide a prorated share of officials and timers and other required personnel.  Work assignments will be based on the number entries per team.  Teams will be informed of their assignments prior to the meet via e-mail. The Referee for this meet will be Paul Maker, and officials are encouraged to contact Paul at (508) 384-8480 or email at makerp@fcl-us.net before the meet.  Officials who sign up by the meet deadline (February 18th) will be included in the number of workers when team work assignments are done.

 

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck.  All non-athletes on the pool deck must display their USA Swimming registration card at all times.  Individuals without their USA Swimming registration card will be removed from the pool deck, and will be subject to a fine by New England Swimming.

 

FOOD / VENDOR: A concession stand will be in operation for the duration of the meet located in classroom # 156D.  Varsity Swim Shop will be selling suits, goggles, and other accessories for the duration of the meet not available on February 21.  Fine Design will be offering customized swim meet t-shirts, sweatshirts, there will be no danger of selling out. 

 

DIRECTIONS:

Attleboro High School in Attleboro, Massachusetts is located on Rathbun Willard Drive. Take I-95 to the Attleboro Exit #3A, Route 123 towards Attleboro Center. Immediately after exiting off I-95, take a left at the Shell gas station onto Lathrop Drive. Follow approximately one mile and take a right onto Rome Blvd. Rome Blvd will curve to the right and then back to the left before becoming Rathbun Willard Drive. Attleboro High School will be on your right. Enter the first large parking lot next to the School. On this route, look for signs indicating the way to the high school.

 

PARKING: Parking is located in front of the Attleboro High School. Parking is NOT allowed on the road in front of the Attleboro High School.  In the event that the first lot is full alternate parking is available behind the school. (Alternate parking directions: Rt-123 East; Take left following signs for Rt-123 East at Castro’s Liqueurs; At Domino’s Pizza store take the next left Bushee Street; High School Parking Lot at the end of Street on the Right; Park on the right hand side of the lot as you enter;

Walk to the pool, past garage door with the number 7 painted on it; left along side the building away from the parking lot towards the football field; Entrance to the pool is around the front of building.)
