MEET
FORMAT: The
meet will be swum as timed-finals. Each
session will be seeded by computer based on positive check-in at the beginning
of each session. Coaches will receive
scratch sheets for all sessions at the beginning of the meet in coaches’
packets except for the Saturday night distance session which will be positive
check-in. The scratch sheet for each
session must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of the
session. Heat sheets will be posted
around the pool deck and delivered to officials and coaches as they become
available. The 1000 and 1650 freestyle
events will be swum fast-to-slow, alternating heats of women and men. Positive
check-in for the Saturday night session must occur before 5:00 PM.
SITE: The
Competition Pool is a 6-lane, 25-yard pool with non-turbulent lane lines. There
is a fully automatic, electronic timing system with touch pads at the finish
end of the pool with single-line electronic display. There are no touchpads at
the turn end of the pool. The finish end of the pool is 11 feet deep; the turn
end of the pool is 4 feet deep. Spectator seating is for approximately
300. The pool is located is located at 750 Winter Street, Framingham MA
(see Directions).
COURSE: Short course yards (25
yards).

ELIGIBILITY: All contestants may be 2006
or 2007 USA Swimming registered athletes.
All swimmers must be registered
before the entry is submitted. Teams
that enter unregistered swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per
unregistered swimmer. New England
teams entering the meet are required to check their entries with the online
registration check tool on the New England Swimming web site. Please contact the New England Swimming
Office for registration information. Disabled swimmer forms are available from

ENTRY INFORMATION: 75% of entries will be reserved and 25% will be open lottery. . In order to make sure that the
meet is neither oversubscribed nor undersubscribed, all teams included in the
75% must submit their entry and check at least one week before the date of
first acceptance. Entries will be accepted on and after
October 16, 2006. Entries received before October 16, 2006 will be considered
received on October 16, 2006. Entries must be received no later than 5
PM, October 20, 2006 Make checks payable to “Shawmut Aquatic Club”. Mail
completed forms (including signed entry cover page and waiver) and payment to
the entry chairperson: Matthew Craven 1 Norfolk Lane Walpole, MA 02081. All
entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and
registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. All entries must
include a completed and signed entry cover sheet and waiver. No deck entries
will be accepted. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted,
or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry. Any swimmer who is
entered with incorrect swimmer information, or an incorrect or no ID, will be
scratched from the meet until corrections are made per the New England Swimming
policy.
ELECTRONIC
ENTRIES:
Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management
software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to
the entry chairperson at matthewcraven316@hotmail.com. Please check that your team name, address,
and contact information are listed correctly in this file. For email entries, payment and hardcopy of
the entry (including signed entry cover page and waiver) must be received
within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of receipt of the email
entry. If payment is received within
four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of the email entry, the email
receipt date will be considered the date of entry. If payment is received more than four (4)
days, excluding Sundays and holidays, after the email entry, the payment
receipt date will be considered the date of entry.
ENTRY
LIMITS:
Athletes may enter and swim in a maximum of five (5) events per day. Swimmers
will be limited to one (1) event for the Friday and Saturday evening sessions.
Please be advised that the Saturday night event is considered part of the five
(5) event per day limit.
ENTRY
TIME UPATES:
Entry times may be updated until 7 days prior to the first day of the
meet. No new entries will be accepted
after the October 20, 2006 entry deadline.
Entry time updates should be sent via email to the entry chairperson at matthewcraven316@hotmail.com .
Entry time updates must be sent as Hy-Tek format CL2 files with updated
times. (New entries will be
automatically excluded.)
ENTRY
FEES:
Electronic entries: $3.50 for individual events less than 400 yards in length,
and $5.00 for distance events (400 yards and longer). Non-electronic entries: $4.00 for individual
events less than 400 yards in length and $5.50 for distance events (400 yards
and longer).

ENTRY
TIMES: All
entries must be specified in short-course yard (25-yard pool) times. Meter
times must be converted to yard times. Entries with “NO TIME” will be rejected.
ENTRY
CUTS: Entry
cuts, if necessary, will be made by the date of receipt and time. Teams will be
notified that they have been accepted or cut from the meet within seven days of
receipt of entry. This meet will follow
the 75/25 process outlined by NE Swimming policy. The host team will guarantee
up to 75% of the entries for selected teams (including host team). If the meet
becomes oversubscribed for the remaining 25% of the entries, then a random
selection of those entries received on the date the meet becomes oversubscribed
will be conducted in accordance with New England Swimming guidelines. Teams that are cut from the meet will have
their entry fee returned within four days of being cut. The meet director
reserves the right to cut the following events by time: 400 IM, 500 Free, 1000
Free and 1650 Free.
RELAYS: There will be no relay
events.
25-YARD
EVENTS: 25-yard
events will start on the blocks at the finish end of the pool. The 25-yard
events will be timed manually by two timers per lane. There are no touch pads
at the turn end of the pool.
PROGRAMS:
$2.00 per session or $5.00 for complete meet program.
ADMISSION: $1.00 per session.
WARMUPS: The pool will open for
warm-ups at least one hour before the beginning of each session. The pool will close ten minutes before the
beginning of each session. Teams will be
assigned warm-up lanes and time slots after all entries are received.
SAFETY:
RULES: 2006 USA Swimming rules
will govern all competition. Decisions
by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30
minutes of the heat swum. All events will be swum as timed finals. Swimmers must provide their own counters
and timers for the 1000 and 1650 freestyle events.
TIME
TRIALS:
Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time
allows. Time trials are $5.00 for
individual events and $14.00 for relays.
DECK
ACCESS:
Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the
pool deck. All non-athletes on the pool
deck must display their USA Swimming registration card at all times. Individuals without their USA Swimming
registration card will be removed from the pool deck, and will be subject to a
fine by New England Swimming.
SCORING: The meet will not be
scored.
AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to
the top six finishers in each individual event.
FOOD: A concession stand will be
in operation for the duration of the meet.
EQUIPMENT
VENDOR: A
swimming equipment vendor will be selling suits, goggles, and other accessories
for the duration of the meet.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Shawmut Aquatic Club assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen property.
Pets of any kind and smoking are not permitted within the facility.
PARKING: There is ample parking
available in the parking lot adjacent to the Keefe Tech Pool.
DIRECTIONS: From Rt. 128 take Rt. 9
west toward Framingham passing the Natick Mall. Take Rt. 126 into downtown
Framingham, turn right onto Rt. 135. Go past La Cantina Restaurant and take
next right (Winter Street). Go over
bridge thru lights. Keefe Tech is on the right.
From
the West, using either the Mass Pike or Rt. 9. Upon exiting the Mass Pike at
exit 12, Framingham, follow signs to Rt. 9 East, Framingham. At the end of the
ramp, merge onto Rt. 9 east and proceed approximately 1.3 miles to the second
light. Take the right onto Temple Street
and proceed past the Super Stop and Shop to the end of the street. At the end,
take a left onto Salem End Road. Proceed
on Salem End Road ¼ mile to the first light. Take a right onto Winter Street.
The entrance to Keefe Tech will be located 1 ½ miles on the left.
