MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals. The meet will be seeded by computer based on positive check-in at the beginning of each session.  Coaches will receive a positive check-in sheet before the meet, which must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of each session.  Heat sheets will be posted around the pool deck. Coaches will be able to pick up heat sheets for each session at the pool office.

 

SITE: The Eaglebrook School Schwab Family Pool is a 6-lane, 25-yard pool with seven-foot-wide lanes and non-turbulent lane lines. Fully-automatic Daktroniks electronic timing system with touchpads at the finish end of the pool and a 6 lane electronic display.  There are no touchpads at the turn end of the pool. The finish end of the pool is 13 feet deep; the turn end of the pool is 4.5 feet deep.  Spectator seating is available for 200.  The pool is located on the Eaglebrook School campus.  Directions are attached.

 

COURSE: Short course yards (25 yards).

ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must be 2007 USA Swimming registered athletes.  All swimmers must be registered before the entry is submitted.  Teams that enter unregistered swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per unregistered swimmer.  New England teams entering the meet are required to check their entries with the online registration check tool on the New England Swimming web site.  Please contact the New England Swimming Office for registration information. Disabled swimmer forms are available from the New England Swimming Office. New England Swimming Office: 20 Cleveland Road, Needham MA 02492, 781-449-0270, office@neswim.com.  Any swimmer who is entered with incorrect swimmer information, or an incorrect or no ID, or is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until corrections are made per the New England policy.

 

ENTRY INFORMATION: Entries will be accepted on and after December 14, 2006.  Entries received before December 14, 2006 will be considered received on December 14, 2006.  Entries will be accepted on or before January 4, 2007.  Make checks payable to Eaglebrook School.  Mail completed forms (including signed entry cover page and waiver) and payment to the entry chairperson: Brian Hobbs, 545 Hurricane Road, Keene, NH 03431.  All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names.  All entries must include a completed and signed entry cover sheet and waiver.  No deck entries will be accepted.  No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry. 

 

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chairperson Brian Hobbs at bhobb@ix.netcom.com.  Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file.  For email entries, payment and hardcopy of the entry (including signed entry cover page and waiver) must be received within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of receipt of the email entry.  If payment is received within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of the email entry, the email receipt date will be considered the date of entry.  If payment is received more than four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, after the email entry, the payment receipt date will be considered the date of entry.

 

ENTRY LIMITS: Athletes may enter and swim in a maximum of 5 events per day.

 

ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $4.00 for each event under 400 Yds and $5.00 for events 400 yds and over.  Non-electronic entries: $4.50 for each event under 400 yds. And $5.50 for each event over 400 yds.

 

ENTRY TIMES: All entries must be specified in short-course yard (25-yard pool) times.  Meter times must be converted to yard times. Entries with “NO TIME” will be accepted with those swimmers seeded slower than swimmers with times

.

ENTRY TIME UPATES:  Entry times may be updated through Monday, January 9, 2007.  No new updates will be accepted after that date. (New entries will be automatically excluded).  Entry time updates should be sent via email to the entry chairperson and must be sent as Hy-Tek format CL2 files with updated times.

 

ENTRY CUTS: Entry cuts, if necessary, will be made by the date of receipt.  Teams will be notified that they have been accepted or cut from the meet within seven days of receipt of entry.  If the meet becomes oversubscribed, a random selection of those entries received on the date the meet becomes oversubscribed will be conducted in accordance with New England Swimming guidelines.  Teams that are cut from the meet will have their entry fee returned within four days of being cut.

 

OFFICIALS AND TIMERS:  Volunteer officials and timers from each team would be appreciated.  The Referee for this meet will be Bob Menck and volunteer officials are requested to register with the Meet Director by Monday, January 9, 2007.  Team warm-up lane assignments and timer goals will be emailed to team contacts prior to the meet, posted at the meet, and included in the coach’s packet.

 

PROGRAMS: $2.00 per session.

 

ADMISSION: $1.00 per session (non-swimmer over 14 years)

 

WARMUPS: The pool will open for Session #1 warm-up at 7 am with Session #1 starting at 8 AM.  Warm-ups for Sessions #2 will begin At 12:00 PM with a meet start time of 1: PM, and session #3 warm-ups will begin at 2: PM with a meet start time of 2:30 PM.  Each warm-up session will last approximately 20 minutes. The pool will close five minutes before the beginning of each session.  Teams will be assigned warm-up lanes after all entries are received.

 

SAFETY:

 

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups, except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes.
  2. No shaving is permitted at the competition site.
  3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach.  If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer shall notify the referee before he/she warms up.  The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
  5. No camera cell phones are permitted in the locker rooms.
  6. No flash photography at the start of any race.

 

RULES: 2007 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.  Decisions by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum.

 

TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered if time allows.

 

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck.  All non-athletes on the pool deck must assist with the operation of the meet.

 

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

 

AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top six finishers in each event.

 

FOOD: A concession stand will be in operation for the duration of the meet.

 

MISCELLANEOUS: ESSC assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen property.  Pets of any kind and smoking are not permitted within the facility.

 

PARKING: There is ample parking available on the Eaglebrook campus near the Schwab Family Pool.  Look for signs for swim meet parking on Pine Nook Rd.

 

DIRECTIONS:

 

From the East

Choice #1: Take Route 2 West via Concord off of Route 95 (Route 128), and continue on Route 2 West to Greenfield (approximately 95 miles). At Greenfield, merge onto Interstate 91 South; and after 1 1/2 miles, take Exit 26. Then follow the directions below From the West.

Choice #2: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) to the West Springfield and Interstate 91 Exit. Take Interstate 91 North to Exit 24 for Deerfield and Conway. Take a right at the end of the off ramp, and go approximately five miles North on Route 5 & 10. Shortly past Savage's Market, take your second right onto Pine Nook Road. There is a sign for Eaglebrook School. Proceed through the underpass and up the hill to Eaglebrook School – the pool is on the left past the Lewis Track and Field..

From the West
Take Route 2 East to Greenfield. About 1/2 mile after you go under Interstate 91 (this is a rotary, bear right), you will come to a set of traffic lights with a Dunkin' Donuts Shop on your right. Turn right at the lights onto River Street, and continue on this road until you reach a set of traffic lights. Turn right onto Route 5 & 10 and continue south for approximately 3 1/2 miles. Turn left onto Pine Nook Road. There is a sign for Eaglebrook School. Proceed through the underpass and up the hill to Eaglebrook School -- the pool is on the left past the Lewis Track and Field.

From the North
Take Interstate 91 South and proceed to Exit 26 for Greenfield Center and Route 2 West. Then, follow the directions above From the West.

From the South
Take Interstate 91 North and proceed to Massachusetts Exit #24. Then, follow the directions above in From the East / Choice #2.

 

The Schwab Family Pool is located on your left, past the track and field.  If you get to the main campus entrance on your right you have gone too far.
