FACILITY
McDermott Pool, Sandy Lane, Warwick, Rhode Island is a 50-meter 6 lane covered
pool with non-turbulent lane lines, Colorado Timing System and touch pads,
limited interior seating but with access to outdoor patios spaces. Failure to abide
by rules defined in this notice, posted at the facility or determined by the
Meet Referee or Meet Director may result in ejection from the facility.
FORMAT
The meet will be swum as timed-finals.
Each session will be seeded by computer based on positive check-in at
the beginning of each session. Coaches
will receive a positive check-in sheet before each session, which must be
returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of the session. Heat sheets will be posted around the pool
deck. Coaches will be able to pick up
heat sheets for each event at the control office.
ELIGIBILITY
All contestants must be 2006 USA Swimming registered athletes. All swimmers must be registered before the
entry is submitted. Teams that enter
unregistered swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per unregistered swimmer.
ENTRY
INFORMATION
Entries must be submitted to Paul Mangili
and will not be accepted any earlier than Saturday, April 29, 2006
or any later than Saturday, May 20, 2006. All entries arriving on
or before April 29 will be counted as arriving on April 29. If a swimmer does not have an official time
for a particular event, a coach’s time must be used instead. No deck entries will be accepted. No refunds will be given for entries that are
accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry. Any swimmer who is entered with incorrect
swimmer information, or an incorrect or no ID, or is unregistered, will be
scratched from the meet until corrections are made per the
Electronic
Entries: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that
are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry
chairperson at pmangili@verizon.net.
Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are
listed correctly in this file. For email
entries, payment and hardcopy of the entry (including signed entry cover page
and waiver) must be received within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and
holidays, of receipt of the email entry.
If payment is received within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and
holidays, of the email entry, the email receipt date will be considered the
date of entry. If payment is received
more than four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, after the email entry,
the payment receipt date will be considered the date of entry.
Entry
Limits: No swimmer may enter more than 5 individual events
per day. Open
age groups will swim in the morning sessions while 12&under age
groups will swim in the afternoon session.
All age groups will swim in combined heats separated only by gender, but
awards will be given to 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, and 15 & over age
groups.
Entry
Times: All entry times must be submitted in yards. The meet will be seeded in yard times. NT or "no
time" entries are not allowed and will be scratched
immediately upon receipt of the entry.
Entry
Fees: The entry fee is $3.50 per individual event when
submitting entry in with a standard SD3 data file as defined by US Swimming. In
accordance with the entry rules specified by New England Swimming, if an entry
is not submitted on computer diskette in a standard SD3 format, the entry fee
is an additional $0.50 per individual entry (e.g. $4.00 per event). The swimmer
participation fee is $4.00 per swimmer.

PROCEDURES
FOR CUTTING THE MEET
Entry cuts, if necessary, will be made by the date of receipt. Teams will be notified that they have been
accepted or cut from the meet within seven days of receipt of entry. If the meet becomes oversubscribed, a random
selection of those entries received on the date the meet becomes oversubscribed
will be conducted in accordance with New England Swimming guidelines. Teams that are cut from the meet will have
their entry fee returned within four days of being cut.
RULES
2006 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition. Decisions by the meet referee will be final
unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum.
OFFICIALS
AND TIMERS
All teams are asked to volunteer an appropriate share of officials. Please include with your entry a list of your
team’s eligible officials, their phone numbers, and the session(s) they are
available to work. The Referee for this meet will be Paul Maker, and officials
are encouraged to contact Paul at (508) 384-8480 or email at makerp@comcast.net
before the meet.
SAFETY
AND IMPORTANT RULES TO NOTE
No smoking is permitted inside the building or patio areas. The
Bluefish Swim CLUB, the
1. Diving
will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way
sprint lanes. There will be no diving in
the warmup and warmdown
areas at any time
2. No
shaving is permitted at the competition site.
3. No
glass containers are permitted within the facility.
4. Swimmers
must be under the supervision of a coach.
If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should
notify the referee before he/she warms up.
The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
5.
No camera cell phones are permitted in the locker
rooms.
AWARDS
Ribbons for 1st through 6th will be given in each
individual event in each age group (10&Under,
11-12, 13-14, and 15&Over). There
will be no
ADMISSION
Admission: $1.00 per session
Programs: $2.00 for each session.
CONCESSIONS
& VENDOR
Refreshments will be available. A swimming equipment vendor will be selling
suits, goggles, and other accessories for the duration of the meet.
DIRECTIONS
From the North: Take 95 South into
