March 6 Update: The Saturday morning session will take place at the Kennedy Elementary School, 5 Cherry St. off Elm St., outside of Davis Square in Somerville. (This is a change: The session is not at the Somerville High School.) (See map)

Rich Cheney has managed to secure the Kennedy Elementary School pool in Somerville for Saturday morning. This pool is approx. 10 min from Medford so will not create a travel issue between the 2 sites. We will move the originally scheduled Saturday evening 6:00pm session (11-12 & 15-18) to the Kennedy School in Somerville on Saturday morning, warm-up to start at 6:30am meet start at 7:30am. We will shift the afternoon session at Medford back 1/2 hour so the warm-up will now begin at 1:00pm and the meet start will now be 2:00pm. This will allow anyone that has to go from 1 site to the other to have ample time to do so. We will lastly move the 1650 to Saturday evening to start no earlier than 6:00pm warm-up and no earlier than a 6:30pm start. Sunday and Friday evening sessions will remain as posted. There should be revised meet info on the NE web site by tomorrow evening. Given all the parking restrictions that we are faced with at Medford on Saturday, we believe that this is an excellent compromise and will allow the swimmers great opportunities for their championship meet.

To be clear, we will only swim the Saturday morning session at Somerville, all other sessions will be held at Medford.

We hope this is an acceptable solution to a difficult problem.

From 128 take Rt 2 East to Rt 16, turn right onto Mass Ave. (of Rt. 16) stay on Mass Ave, until you come to Day St. Take a left onto Day St. At end turn right onto Elm St. The Kennedy Elementary school is up on the left.

From 93 South take the Revere Rt 1A exit (it's the exit after the Medford Sq. exit). Get off and get into right lane at light go right. Cross over Mystic Ave. and proceed stright up onto Harvard St. You will go through two sets of lights. At the third set of lights take a left (Powder House Pub will be directly in front of you) onto Broadway. Go over the bridge and turn right onto Cedar St. (7-11 will be on the corner) After second light look for Sartwell Ave. Turn right. School is up on the left.

Coming out of Harvard Sq. going down Mass Ave. towards Arlington, when you reach the Porter Sq. T stop turn right into the parking lot of the shoping area go out the other side and turn right. The school is up on the left.

The entrance to enter the pool will be on Sartwell Ave. which on the side of the building. This is not the Main entrance.

Please note: Parking will be OK on all the surrounding residential streets. We are asking that people car pool to Somerville if possible.
