FACILITY: Beverly YMCA Pool- 6 lane, 25yards pool, 7- foot wide lanes with Keiffer-MacNeil non-turbulent lane lines. Colorado automatic timing with touch pads and scoreboard. Spectator seating for 300.

 

ELIGIBILITY: All swimmers must be 2002 registered swimmers with U.S.A. Swimming. New England Swimmers may register with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Rd.

Needham, MA 02192.

 

ENTRY INFORMATION: Swimmers may enter a maximum of five (5) events per day, including time trials. Entries must be submitted to Carol Meyer and will not be accepted any earlier than December 7, 2001. All entries arriving on or before December 7, 2001 will be counted as arriving on the first day. All entries must be received by January 5, 2002. NT or no-time entries are not allowed and will be scratched immediately upon receipt of entry. A coach's time must be used if no time is available.

 

Email Entries: Email entries to Carol Meyer at meyercarol@hotmail.com with a standard CL2 or SD3 data file (zipped files work better) of your team’s entry will be accepted. A paper copy of the meet entry and payment for the entry must be received within four days, not including Sundays and holidays, of the receipt of entry to Carol Meyer, 68 Middlebury Lane, Beverly, MA 01915. If payment and paper copy are not received within this period, the date the check arrives is the date your entry is considered received.

 

Other Entries: Diskette with a standard CL2 or SD3 data file and a hard copy of your entry and payment via US Postal Service or other overnight delivery service. Please indicate that the package may be delivered even if there is no one there to sign for it.

 

No fax, telephone or deck entries will be accepted and all fees must be paid before an entry is accepted.

 

CUTS: If the meet becomes oversubscribed due to multiple team entries arriving on the first day or a later day, entries and teams will be cut using the following procedure:

Swimmer entries that have no time or “NT”

Teams who have not paid all required meet fees

Teams who submit entries containing errors, that are not able to be imported, or are illegible.

Distance events (400Y and over) will be cut by time

If more than one team’s entry is received on the date the meet becomes     oversubscribed, a lottery of those teams will be held. The names of those teams will be submitted to Mary Riddell for the lottery.

 

ENTRY FEES: $2.50 for electronic entry/$3.00 for hand entry.

Distance Events (1000 and 1650 free) $4.00 for electronic entry/$4.50 for hand entry. Please make check payable to YNS Swim Team.

 

UPDATING TIMES:

Times may be updated until January 15, 2002. An email with an updated CL2 or SD3 file will be accepted. Teams that were hand entered will be allowed to update times; arrangements to be made between that team and the meet director.

 

AWARDS: Medals for individual events 1-3 place, ribbons 4-6 place. Heat winner prize for 10 and under age groups.

 

ADMISSION: $1.00 per session

Programs: $5.00 for the meet

 

CONCESSION: A wide variety of food and drink will be available during each session.

 

DIRECTIONS: YMCA of the Northshore, Sterling Center: From Route 128 North or South, take exit 18 (Route22), at end of exit ramp, take a right. The YMCA will be ¼ mile on the right. There is on-site at the YMCA, but no parking is allowed in the “members only” section of the parking lot. There is off-site parking with shuttle service to the YMCA. Drop-off of swimmers at the front door will be allowed.

 

FORMAT:

All events will be timed finals.

Swimmers in the 1000 and 1650 will be required to provide their own counters.

Swimmers in the 1650 will be required to provide their own timers.

1000 and 1650 will be seeded fastest to slowest, alternating gender.

Positive check-in is required for the 1000 and 1650.

 

RULES: 2002 U.S.A. Swimming rules will govern all competition and decisions by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the swim heat being protested.

 

SPECIAL INSRUCTIONS:

Absolutely no diving during warm-ups, except in designated sprint lanes when announced.

Swimmers must be under the supervision of their coach.

Swimmers attending the meet without a coach must report directly to the meet referee.

Shaving at this meet is not allowed.

Our facilities are open to members during this swim meet.

Any swimmer found using the adult locker rooms or any area not designated for the meet will be removed from the remainder of the meet.

TIME TRIALS: Sanction # NE-02-04a

Time trials will be run immediately following the final event of each session, if time allows. Registration will be required 15 minutes in advance. The fee is $5.00 per event, payable at time trial registration.
