Parents must supervise
their children when out of the pool area and insure that they are not using the
other athletic facilities of the College. No one should be on the artificial turf
behind the pool.
Failure to abide by these rules may result in ejection from the
facility.
Events: This Long Course Championship Meet will be pre-seeded each
session after all scratches have been turned in.

information..

Seeding All long course meter times, then yard times. All short course
meter times should be converted to yard times by multiplying by . 9049. Yard
and short course meter times (25 meter) will be seeded in the slowest heats.
Please circle anything on the entry sheet in red, that is not a long
course meter time.
The heats and lanes will be posted at both ends of the pool.
All 50 Meter events will start from the blocks. Timers will be moved to the
opposite end of the pool.
It is the responsibility of the swimmer to get to the block
on time.
Entries: A swimmer may enter any number of individual events he or she qualifies for, and must scratch down to 9 individual events at the meet. A swimmer may only swim five events each day excluding relays. All relay swimmers must be listed on the entry.
Entries may be submitted on a disk using the Hy-tek program, however a hard
copy must also be included.
No seed cards are needed.
All fees must accompany the entry. If the entry is sent by express mail, or
any way that needs a signature, please have it signed off to be left. If you want a
receipt to ensure your entry has been received, enclose a stamped self addressed post card.
Entries must be received by Wednesday, July 5, 2000.
A swimmer who qualifies for this meet at the Qualifier at Dover - July 7, 8
& 9, 2000 may send their entries by overnight mail on Monday to be received
by: Tuesday July 11, 2000. This is for new events only, not time updates.
These will be long course times and seeded properly. Appropriate entry fees must
accompany the entry.
FEES: For all individual events - $3.00 per individual event. $4.00 for
400s & 800s. $7.00 per relay team. All checks should be made out to:
Pioneer Valley Aquatic Club. Only one check per team.
***In addition, each swimmer (both individual and relay only swimmers) listed on your entry is assessed a $1.00 surcharge by New England Swimming. Attach a separate check for this $1.00 per swimmer fee, and make the check out to New England Swimming, and enclose this with your entry.
Verification of times is required. Please refer to the enclosed verification information provided by New England Swimming. Times may date from July 16, 1999 to July 5, 2000 except for entries from the qualifier as explained above.
All events will be timed finals 8 & Unders, 9-10 year olds, and 11-12 year olds.
Eligibility: Only USS/NE registered swimmers are eligible and must be registered prior to the entry deadline. Age eligibility is determined by the age of the swimmer as of July 14, 2000 and must be shown on the entry form. Swimmers must have a qualifying time equal to or faster than the qualifying time established by New England Swimming (reprinted in the attached schedule of events). Swimmers may register with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Rd., Needham, Ma. 02492. All coaches on deck must be registered with US Swimming and present their Coach Membership Card to pick up their coaches packets.
Rules: 2000 U.S. Swimming rules will govern except as otherwise stated herein
and the decision of the referee will be final. Diving will be prohibited during
warm-ups with the exception of the sprint lanes when they are announced.
Disabled swimmer forms are required by US Swimming and are available from the
New England Swimming Office.
Any swimmer participating in the meet without a U.S. Swimming registered
coach shall report to the referee before warm-ups prior to each session.
AWARDS: All swimmers will receive a commemorative pin from NES (swimmers
who did not receive one in the winter). These may be picked up at the
verification table.
Medals will be awarded for the first 8 places in individual events and for
the first three places in relays. These awards will be presented throughout the
meet as soon as the results become available. Ribbons will be awarded through 16
places in individual events and 4-6th in relay events. Heat ribbons will be
given out as well.
Plaques will be awarded to the individual high point winners for both boys
and girls for the first eight places in each age group

Info: Please direct all questions regarding entries to the entry chairman and
all other questions to the meet director.
Officials & Timers: In accordance with New England Championships
procedure, all teams entering this meet may be asked to provide a pro-rata share
of officials and timers. Teams will be notified in advance as to their timing
assignments.
Food: Springfield College will have a concession up stairs in the building.
There is plenty of room for lawn chairs, in the front of the building for anyone
wanting to bring a picnic.
Metro Swim Shop will be selling swim supplies.
Scratch rules: Scratches for Fridays events must be turned in to the computer
table by 3:30 p.m. at the latest.
For Saturdays events: Scratches should be turned in by the end of the meet on
Friday evening.
For Sundays events: Scratches should be turned in by the end of the meet on
Saturday evening.
As there are only two heats per sex in the new events,(9-10 400 free,
11-12 400 IM., and 11-12 800 free) scratches should be turned in as soon as
possible for these so the next in line can be asked to swim the event.
